Form & Fungi is a design studio dedicated to exploring the creative potential of mycelium. Mycelium is the root network of fungi, and certain species have the remarkable ability to grow into strong, durable composites when cultivated on wooden waste materials. These mycelium-based materials are considered among the most promising sustainable materials for the future.
Founded by Lina Hülsmann, Form & Fungi operates at the intersection of design, nature, and experimentation, transforming living materials into meaningful objects and experiences.
Through hands-on experiments, artistic installations, and design workshops, Form & Fungi invites people to reconnect with natural processes and to rethink the relationship between growth, decay, and creation. Each piece is unique and shaped by time, environment, and the living organism itself.
Form & Fungi stands for a nature-inclusive design approach. Collaboration with the material and with the fungi itself. The studio aims to inspire a more circular and mindful way of designing and making, where humans and nature create together.
