an audiovisual room installation at luminale 2020
flow was designed for a 250m² room in the lower level of Frankfurt Main Station during the Luminale 2020. We used five twin-wall sheets up to six meters in length, distributed around the room. The sheets were filled with water of different colours, illuminated by ever-changing coloured light. To create waves inside, each wall was moved by motors. Visitors walked around the room to choose their own perspectives, experiencing all the different visual effects the installation could offer. The musical background completes the holistic experience, providing a contrast to the stressful environment of Frankfurt Main Station
The installation
Consists of five twin-sheet walls filled with coloured water. Each wall is moved by a motor with an individual rhythm. Additionally, a composition of sounds and light, changing in intensity and colour, fills the room with a unique atmosphere. By wandering around, visitors change their perspective and shape their very personal experience.
The audiovisual room installation
Is based on the flow and contrast of graphical and organic elements. It gives the visitor the chance to experience the interaction of light, water, colour, and sound.
Luminale
Is a festival of lighting culture held in Frankfurt am Main every two years since 2000. It is organized parallel to Light+Building, an international trade fair for lighting and lighting technology.
